Training has been awesome these last few days. The focus has been on quality which make things quite painful. During yesterdays run I felt to quote Rocky again "Like I tried to kiss the express train". It was the good burn I haven't felt in over a month. Swimming is coming along well, front back looks pretty good, I just have to make sure I am able to swim it without working too hard. Cycling is going well too, the focus there though is efficiency. I am only cycling so often how can I make the most of my time on the bike.
Because we are taking a quality versus quantity approach I have plenty of time to do other things. Usually my biggest problem is that when I get excited for races or events I am prone to getting sick. Examples Mazatlan, Worlds, Maui training camp, and so on and so on. Therefore this race I plan on using my extra time to combat this by eliminating the stress in the weeks leading up. There is always going to be nervousness and what not but I feel if I can be organized well in advance before the nervousness hits I should be able to come into the race flying. I have surrendered my life over to lists which will hopefully help to keep me more organized and provide a blueprint for future races as well.
I looked over the Osoyoos start list and although its missing Jordan Rapp, thereby denying me of a Jonnyo Rappstar Ironman Canada Preview show it still looks to be a decent field.
a few names I noticed on the start list are
Chris Brown
Jopnathon Caron
Scott Curry
Mike Champigny
Nathan Champness
Ben Cotter
Dallas Cain
Stefan Jakobsen
Adam Jensen
Mike Neill
Olly Piggin
Matt Seeley
Lane Seeley
Cal Zarsyski
Hopefully we'll see Dr Tommy and a few more sign up, its unfortuantely that the Vancouver half is on the same weekend. I'll try and post some predictions with some humor interjected in the weeks to come.
Lastly a big shout out to Olly Piggin as he goes head to head with his Country man Bryan Rhodes in Ironman Cour D'alene.

Add Sean Bechtel to that list.
Nice racing in Oliver Jeff, good luck in the desert.
